Hi! I’m Heidi, photographer, wife, and mama to three littles. I spend my days reading books, exploring nature with my family, and (let’s be honest) doing a LOT of mundane daily tasks that go along with motherhood.
Capturing sweet and funny moments helps me focus on the wonderful part of raising a family.
My family will tell you that I am an avid book collector. Picture books are my absolute favorite–I just love visual storytelling, and I love that I’ve got a group of littles who want to read with me! I’ve got a soft spot for lovely books that mingle history or science with simple language and beautiful illustrations.
But my favorite stories are the ones that are unfolding right now in our very own families. My love for beautiful pictures has grown organically alongside my children. What better way to tell the story of our family than through the pictures we take? I love freezing my children’s action–rolling down hills, racing through the yard, jumping off of tree stumps–and I love capturing their quiet moments of cuddling in, their silly giggles, and their eyes. Oh, those eyes. What seemed completely ordinary in the moment is breathtakingly beautiful as a memory.

I am based in New Castle County, Delaware and typically serve families in Newark, Pike Creek, Hockessin, and Wilmington.
I offer outdoor family photography and children’s portraits.
When your session date arrives, we’ll meet at a lovely location we’ve selected together—a local park or perhaps your own backyard!
I’ll meet you in the parking area, and we’ll walk together to our chosen spot. This is a great chance for introductions and letting everyone warm up. If you have family members who struggle with meeting new people, I’m happy to send you a welcome video beforehand to help them feel more prepared. You can also spend a few minutes on my website where they can see my face and look at the kind of pictures we’ll be taking together. Our goal is to help everyone feel safe, comfortable, and ready to have a great time together.
If you have young children, we’ll often start our session with a little exploration (a great chance to capture some candid moments). The more you interact with each other, the better! Don’t be shy about crouching down to examine a flower together or stopping to toss a few rocks in stream. Then we’ll move on to more directed poses, including a mixture of small groups, such as couple portraits and siblings, and the whole family together. Sometimes I’ll ask you all to look at the camera, but we’ll also include a mixture of photos where you are walking or hugging or just talking together.
We always make time for close-up individual portraits of everyone in the group–parents get a turn too! I absolutely believe that we can capture an authentic portrait without forcing smiles; we talk and joke, and we capture the absolute best organic expressions together.
After our session, watch your email for a proofing gallery. It’s so much fun to enjoy the beautiful moments we captured together!
The beautiful thing is that it’s up to you! While all clients pay a session fee that covers booking communications, our time capturing portraits together, and a watermarked proofing gallery, you get to choose to buy only the images that you love!
Session fees begin at $300 for a single family. Extended family session fees are quoted based on group size. Digital collections begin at $175.
Within 5 days of your session, you’ll receive an email link to a watermarked online proofing gallery where you can enjoy the moments we captured for your family. After you’ve selected your favorite images and paid for your collection, I’ll work some magic on the back end and send you an updated gallery link with your beautiful, fine-tuned imagery. Turnaround time between paying for a collection and receiving your finished images is typically 3 weeks or less.
